Holiday to Tasmania on Bartercard!

I’d highly recommend a holiday in Tasmania on Bartercard!  We’ve just got back from a week away in Tassie which was absolute bliss all thanks to Bartercard members.

Arriving in Hobart off the Jetstar $99 fair from the Gold Coast (great service – it now only takes 2 1/2 hours one way as opposed to 6 hours via Sydney or Melbourne!) we were picked up by Northern Taxis and taken to our hotel - the Theatre Royal Hotel in central Hobart (both Bartercard members).  I don’t recommend you stay at this hotel on a Saturday night as the pub below is VERY noisy!  Saying that, Alora was woken by the music, it was me who couldn’t get to sleep!  The first morning of our trip we ate breakfast at a Bartercard cafe called Say Cheese at Salamanca Square.  The food and ambiance was great it was just such a shame the markets weren’t on… they only take place on a Sunday, what’s with that?!

We hired a motorhome on Bartercard from Bargain car rentals and spent the next 8 nights touring the island.  Our visit to Strahan included a cruise on the World Heritage Cruises (Bartercard member) that took us up the Gordon River stopping at Sarah Island (a penal settlement).  The history was facinating.  We were given a tour of the island which included showing us the area of land that was reclaimed by the convicts and used as an area to built boats on.  My hubby purchased a book written by a local writer which detailed the history and stories of the convicts.

We were really lucky with the weather, Hobart was a barmy 23c and Cable Mountain was a chilly 6c.  So rug up and get to Tassie.  Download the tourist guide from the Franchisee websites on the Members Trading Portal for ideas.  There’s soooo much to see and do!
