First Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there! This Mother’s Day was my first so it was a really special day for me and my family.

Sienna obviously knows me very well as she selected a beautiful bracelet and earrings for me. She also wrote me a lovely card thanking me for taking care of her…..it amazes me how talented a 5 month can be (Thanks Matt!).

A cup of tea in bed followed by lunch with our extended family really made it the perfect Mother’s Day.

This year Mother’s Day wasn’t just special for me but it was really special for my mother as a grandmother for the first time. I took the opportunity to express to her my new found understanding of being a mother and thanked her for the sacrifices that she has made for me and the unconditional love that she has always expressed.

Mother’s Day really is a day to celebrate the person in our life that so often goes unthanked and unappreciated. I now know more than ever how much my mum rocks!…..thanks mum.
