2 month immunisation

Christie-CropSienna had her first lot of immunisations yesterday. She was very happy laying on the doctors bed drinking the liquid but was quite shocked when she received a jab in the leg. The poor little thing went from smiles to squeals in 2 seconds flat.

Thankfully after the initial shock she was fine. It is amazing how quickly they get over the pain we inflict on them.

Quite often babies can suffer from a fever after their injections and sometimes a reaction around the injection point and tenderness as well. Sienna was fine for most of the day but come the evening she was really upset. It was a cry I hadn’t really heard from her before. Usually I hear hungry, tired or wind crys but this one was different. She had a really sad cry. Poor little bubba was obviously feeling very sorry for herself. I gave her two doses of baby Panadol over the period of the evening and this seemed to help her.

Baby Panadol is really gentle on babies and I managed to buy this using my Bartercard Trade Dollars.

The 2 month immunisation protects the baby from:

  • Hepatitus B
  • Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Haemophilus influenzae type b
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • Rotavirus
